HISTORY
The building was originally the Battle House laundry used as the laundry for the Battle hospital site, then in 1908 the club was founded and was named after a British conservative statesman & viceroy of India , "George Nathanial Curzon".(1859 - 1925)
The club also included "Mrs Woods" bakery at the rear of the premises.

The club was originally an old getlemens club for many years until women were allowed in the club in the 1950's, years later during the 1970's the ladies lobbied for years to get full membership, which they were finally granted. Since then there have been many ladies doing a great job on the committee.
The club has over five hundred members and always welcomes new members.
The club has had a major refurbishment in April 2009, making it a comfortable and great place to bring the whole family.
